    Spoliers (dont read if not interested)

    - Hidan and Kakuka capture Yugito who contains the 3 tail demon.
    - Hidan and Kakuka kill the monk.
    - Naruto learns a new jutsu that combines rasengan and wind chakra.
    - Asumas’ Team 8 kills Hidan and Kakuka, but Asuma dies by Hidan.
    - Sasake seals Orochimaru inside him, and effectively absorbs his powers.
    - Jairya investigates the village of rain where the leader of Akatsuki (i.e.,Pain) is located. Jairya realises hes about to enter a dangerous territory, so he tells his giant toad that if he dies then he should reside with naruto. Jairya also hands to the giant toad, a key, and an incomplete jutsu that the fourth hokage left behind, which is now for naruto to complete. As Jairya enters the village of rain, Pain detects a disturbance in the rain pattern, as well as a strong chakra comming from a powerful ninja, who is later identified as Jairya. Pain confronts Jairya and in a long battle kills him. On Jairya last breath, he leaves behind a written code for Konoha, which reveals the secret to Pains’ powerful jutsu. Pain remarks that he would not have been able to kill Jairya if he had not kept the jutsu a secret.
    - Deidera tries to kill Sasake. In his last attempt, Deidera blows himself up in order to kill Sasake as well. Sasuke summons the giant snake and controls it with his sharingan and hides in its mouth while he transports himself to a safe place using a time/space jutsu. The giant snake curses Sasake as he dies from the explosion.
    - Sasake meets up with Itachi and they fight. Towards the end of the fight, Sasake uses up all his chakra, and Orochimaru is then able to escape from Sasakes’ body. Orochimaru attacks Itachi, but Itachi uses a powerful sword and puts Orochimaru in a permanent genjutsu. Sasake and Itachi continue their fight, but Itachi loses. In Itachis’ last attempt, he transfers all his powers to Sasake.
    - Tobi reveals himself to Sasake as Uchiha Madara, and explains to him Itachis’ real motives, that is, he is a spy from Konoha sent to wipe out the Uchiha clan and thus avoiding any future wars between the clans, and thereby maintaining peace within the country. Obviously, Itachi could not bring himself to kill his little brother Sasake. Madara also remarks that Itachi was diseased and sick before his final battle with Sasake but did not explain the cause.
    - Sasake renames his team to eagle/hawk and “presumably” works with Akatsuki, and his team captures the 8 tail demon. Sasake soons realises after the battle that he has a new technique, the magenkyo sharingan, which is now awaken since the death of Itachi. Sasake now plans to use his new technique to wipe out Konoha.
    - Pain also plans to attack Konoha so as to capture naruto for his 9 tail demon. Naruto is however sent away with the sage frog to learn the powerful “sage” techniques.
    - RaiKage (the brother of the 8 tail demon) sets out for revenge and aims to retrieve his brother from Akatsuki/Sasake.
    - Naruto masters the senjutsu chakra, which allows him to enter “sage mode”, and is now learning “frog fu”.

    First off great episode, at least there was finally some action. Second, no this is not a filler, it is part of the manga arc, they’re just taking there sweet ass time getting round to the climax (Asuma dying - don’t freak out about spoilers, it’s even admitted in the end credits that next episode Asuma dies). Third, I think we will see Naruto nail the wind-infused rasengan soon but it’ll be a month or more before we actually see him use it in battle. And fourth, in the end credits they said the next episode would appear on Oct. 2 which means it’s only a one week wait not the traditional hour-special two week wait.
